A spectacular snowball for WTC Winter World commissioned by the Groundbreakers

For the winter event WTC Winter World in Amsterdam, we received a special question from Groundbreakers: could you make a giant snowball that participants could use to float over a winter landscape via a cable car?

A unique challenge that we at Deco Dudes naturally grabbed with both hands.

The Snowball Experience literally provided a highlight

A complete winter world was constructed in the heart of Zuidplein near the WTC Amsterdam. One of the absolute eye-catchers was the Snowball Experience: a spectacular slide experience where visitors glided across the grounds on a giant snowball via a 19-meter-long zipline, from a height of no less than 9.5 meters.

We completely custom designed and produced the snowball. We designed the snowball to be sturdy, safe and striking, fitting within the experience of a magical winter world. Thanks to smart material choices and strong internal construction, the snowball was not only visually impressive, but also technically reliable for repeated use.

Light, sound and a touch of magic

Together with Groundbreakers' light and sound effects, the experience became even more intense. The snowball was part of a total concept in which entertainment, spectacle and atmosphere came together. Visitors not only lined up to take the ride themselves, but it was also a joy to watch.

A warm collaboration in an icy setting
